Love, lies, jealousy and betrayal.
Liverpool Performing Arts Ensemble presents an abridged production of Othello by William Shakespeare, directed by Tony Woollams.
Through the tragic journey of Othello, Shakespeare explores how jealousy, racism and envy can corrode trust and destroy even the deepest love. Othello’s devotion to his wife, Desdemona, is slowly unravelled by Iago’s calculated lies, leading to devastating consequences.
This powerful, streamlined adaptation offers a compelling reminder of the destructive force of manipulation, the fragility of communication, and the importance of trust, themes that remain strikingly relevant today.
