Don’t Let’s Go to the Dogs Tonight | Directed by Embeth Davidtz
Set during the 1980 Independence War marking the final, turbulent days of Rhodesia and the emergence of Zimbabwe, Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight is a powerful adaptation of Alexandra Fuller's bestselling memoir.
Through the eyes of young Bobo, the film captures a family and a nation at a crossroads, where love of the land, policial upheaval and the realities of a changing world collide. Balancing the innocence of childhood internalising the complexities of war and history, this beautifully crafted drama offers an intimate and emotionally resonate portrait of identity, belonging and the enduring impact of conflict.
